Plan of Salvation

You're not here by accident.  Jesus loves you, and He wants you to have a personal relationship with Him.  There is just one things that separates you from God.  That one thing is sin.  People tend to divide themselves into groups - good people and bad people.  God says that every person that has ever lived is a sinner, and any sin separated us from God.  That include you and me.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23

According to man's rules, people should be punished or rewarded according to how good they are, and it might be hard for you to understand how Jesus could love you when other people don't seem to. But I have great news for you!!  Jesus DOES love you!  More than you can ever imagine!  There's nothing you can do to make Him stop!!  Are you thinking that you should make things right in your life before you come to Jesus? Many people feel that way, but that's not what God says.

"God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8

For you to come to God you have to get rid of your sin problem.  God says you can't make yourself right with God by being a better person.  God wants to save you JUST BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU!

"He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy."  Titus 3:5

It's God's grace that allows you to come to Him - not your efforts to "clean up your life" or work your way to Heaven.  You can't earn it.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."  Ephesians 2:8-9

For you to come to God, your sin must be paid for.  God's gift to you is His son, Jesus, who paid the dept for you.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord."  Romans 6:23

Jesus paid the price for your sin and mine by giving His life on Calvary's cross.  God brought Jesus back from the dead and paved the way for you to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus.  All that's left for you to do is accept the gift that Jesus is holding out for you right now.

"If you confess with you mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."  Romans 10:9-10

God says that if you believe in His son, Jesus, you can live forever with Him in glory.

"For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."  John 3:16

Are you ready to accept the gift of eternal life that Jesus is offering you right now?  If it is you sincere desire to ask Jesus to come into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior, then talk to God from your heart.  Here is a simple prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I do not deserve eternal life.  But, I believe You died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me.  Jesus, come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sins and save me.  I am now placing my trust in You alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life."

If you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please let us know.  We want to rejoice in what God has done in your life and help you grow spiritually.  Please call the church office at (318) 995-6578.

God is Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three personalities:  The Father the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father.  Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate HIs power over sin, hell and death.  He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11: 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.  He is present in the worked to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved.  As Christians, wee seek to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

The Bible is God's word to us.  It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

People are made in teh spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  People are the supreme object of God's creation.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin".  This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6;, Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2

Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12, 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity.  If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot "lose" it.  Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.  It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us the eternity.

John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23, 8:17-18; Revelations 20:15; 1 Corinthians 1:7-9
